ECCOSAFE Water Based Seal

Description

Usage Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully prior to use. Always do a test in an inconspicuous area to ensure competence and satisfaction.

SURFACE PREPARATION

1. Ensure the surface to be sealed is sound and dry. Surface must be thoroughly clean of oils/grease, paint, grout residue, effloresensce and/or acids.
2.  Apply a coat of ECCOSAFE WATER BASED SEAL undiluted using a dry absorbent white cloth, lambswool applicator or a sprayer. To ensure total and even coverage apply in a north/south and east/west direction keeping the
   surface wet with the sealant for 10-15 minutes to allow for penetration. Use a dry absorbent white cloth to remove any excess sealer that has not absorbed after 15 minutes. Allow 30-45 minutes for 1st coat to dry, then apply the 2nd coat using the same method.
3. ECCOSAFE WATER BASED SEAL cures fully within 24-72 hours. Sealed tiles can be walked on after 2 hours

PRECAUTIONS

1. Apply ECCOSAFE WATER BASED SEAL when surface is between 10-25 degrees Celsius.
2. Rain water or moisture must not come into contact with newly sealed areas for at least 24 hours after application.
   ECCOSAFE WATER BASED SEAL must not be used externally on rainy days.
3. All surrounding areas should be guaranteed against contact with ECCOSAFE WATER BASED SEAL .
   In the event of contact with an unprotected surface, wipe off with an absorbent dry cloth.
4. If method of application is to spray on, avoid doing so in windy conditions.
5.  ECCOSAFE WATER BASED SEAL is a low VOC product however safety precautions should still be used such as gloves and goggles as well as allowing good ventilation during application and until surface is dry.

COVERAGE

Coverage will depend on porosity of the surface temperature and method of application.
Approximate coverage rates per litre are as follows –

Limestone / Sandstone 6 – 8 sqm (2 coats)
Terrazzo / Concrete 6 – 8 sqm (2 coats)
Travertine / Marble 8 – 10 sqm (2 coats)
Bluestone / Granite 8 – 10 sqm (2 coats)
